The communities in schools model in schools

Communities In Schools works within the public school system, determining student needs and establishing relationships with local businesses, social service agencies, health care providers, and parent and volunteer organizations to provide needed resources. Many children face challenges both inside and outside the classroom. Through a school-based site coordinator, Communities In Schools strategically aligns and delivers needed resources so that students can focus on learning. Communities In Schools is a cost-effective model. We work within public school systems and maximize the use of dedicated volunteers and community partners. Communities In School supports innovative programs based on best practices for improving student achievement. CIS is dedicated to ensuring quality within our network and practices. We provide training for staff and ensure each local affiliate serving students adheres to our standards of quality. We call our model CHaSYN (Creating Healthy and Strong Youth Now)!
